About Milo's Bravest Friends
Milo's Bravest Friends is a medical cat rescue based in West Haven, Connecticut. We are dedicated to the care of cats with Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP) and other challenging medical conditions. Our mission is to provide a safe and loving environment for these special cats, offering them the best possible care and a chance for a happy life.
When Milo was just a baby, he was diagnosed with neurological FIP.
Feline infectious peritonitis (FIP) is a painful, awful disease that, until recently, has nearly always been a death sentence.
When Milo was diagnosed with FIP, we were terrified, devastated, and absolutely lost. Our tiny man was hours from death and completely paralyzed from the waist down after FIP resulted in meningitis in his spine. All we knew about FIP is that it was 100% fatal. That night, our entire world turned upside down when we learned about the non-FDA approved black market drug saving thousands of cats. Today, the first legal compounded FIP treatment is also available!
After going through 84 days of this FIP treatment, plenty of physical therapy, acupuncture, supportive care, and 84 days of observation, Milo was cured of the once 100% fatal FIP. Milo still lives with some neurological deficits including being incontinent, but he lives a pretty normal, happy cat life and I cannot imagine life without him by my side!
Since then, spreading awareness about FIP treatment has become our passion. Sadly, many cat parents are still receiving the recommendation to euthanize when receiving an FIP diagnosis. They simply do not know that there is a CURE out there!
So we took our passion for FIP awareness and medical rescue and started a medical cat rescue! Milo’s Bravest Friends supports homeless cats and kittens diagnosed with FIP. We bring them into our home, go through the grueling 84 days of treatment, 84 days of observation, and any needed rehab and physical therapy. We will give them a chance! And then we will help them find their forever home!!
